Entry # 3 just from me, (to ewe),
Here we go again, marching down the avenue, here we go again, do this blog and I'll be threw. Yes folks its me once again, Ziggy Stardust, blogging to you from that farm of farms, funny to famous, home to any and all, great and small, I give you STARDUST FARM!!!! It's been a while since we got together, thought I better drop a few lines to let you know I'm still on the green side of the grass as well as those happy horse freaks here at Stardust, yes, I would be talken bout Julie, Paul and that quivering queen of critter control AUTUMN!!!

The show year for Stardust has ended and they just brought their stallion (Omar) home for a well deserved R&R. You can see him as well as all the horses on this site or on Autumn's facebook which is just a link away. The farm's latest addition is a 4 month old foal named Stardust's Weekend Surprise, aka "Lily" their little rocky filly who is the beast of the barn yard and if you want to know why they named her "Weekend Surprise", just ask Autumn on facebook as she has been put in-charge of the "Miss Lily Department".

There is a entire family of Cardinals (birds, not Catholics) in residence here since last March. All 4 visit 2-3 times daily from the perch outside the dining room window. They sit there eating and looking in the window. Bee leaf it or knot the mother cardinal (Claudia Cardinally) used to flap and peck the window until Paul or Julie joined her in the dining room, she used to get them out of bed this way early each morning all of spring thru early summer. She would show up with her husband (Claude), and then around mid-summer she showed up with her son and daughter as well.

Things seem to work differently here, guess that's why I like the place. In case your wondering Buford the 2000 lb pet steer is fine and living with Stardust's High Noon aka Cooper. Harley the game cock is still alive and well living on the cat perch. The two 11 year old pots (pigs) Roscoe & Patty are doing well just runnin their game from dawn to dusk stealing more goodies then Yogi the Bear and all the cats, dogs, yard chickens, raccoons, skunks, opossums, etc. Better close for now, this is Ziggy signing off, but stay tuned for the next installment of Creature Features.

Ziggy Stardust 's (ZS), # 2 just for Ewe

This is Ziggy again coming to you from beautiful downtown Stardust Farm blanketed with snow as we speak. Yes folks its wonderful to be here with great Rocky Mountain horses as well as most other things God created. Just the other morning the farm had a carrier/racing ( banded) pigeon make an unscheduled stop at the farm as he was low on gas and oil. After 2 days of R&R at Autumn's crib (bed and breakfast for animals) he was on his way, good as new and he didn't even leave a tip!
Birds have always been a part of this zoo, many rescues with few here by design. There was Victor the Vulture, a really big ugly road kill eating dude that liked Mrs Brown (Julie) the best, you could tell because he would blow chunks for her, (its a bird thing). As a matter of fact it seems most of the birds around here favor her. Take for example her most very best favorite pet in the world, now a reasonable thinking person might think that would be one of her lovely rockies, but nooooooo, its her beloved Harlen (aka Harley) the house rooster. Harley is a 5 y.o. gamecock that's lived here for lets see, 5 years. He came to us as a cute little rescue chick and grew up to be an identity stricken rooster having nothing to do with the our 6 hens but loves the Potbelly Pigs, especially Patty Pig, but that's a story for another blog entry. Harley is a real "righteous dude" and I promise to tell you more of his adventures another time. The bird feeder outside the dining room window is home to many wild birds looking for take out and we even let them super size their orders but not on the dollar menu.
Almost time for me to go watch Mr Brown (Paul) feed and water the horses in the snow and mud. That's always so much fun watching him slip and slide around in the bard yard. The barn yard is now the farm's geriatric horse home as it's occupied by two old mares one of which is totally blind and the other one uses a walker and wears depends, yet another story for another time and I might add its a good one. Soooooo, this is Ziggy wishing you all are safe and sound and if your not sound, I can suggest a really good shrink!!! bye bye ZS.

In The Beginning

God created the heavens and the earth and on the earth among other things he created horses. A few years later man came along and put these wonderful creatures on horse farms, much like the one I'm writing to you from. My name is Ziggy and I hang my hat at a horse farm near Lancaster Kentucky called Stardust Farm, same last name as me, bitchen huh!! I've been here quite a few years, I've seen so many wonderful, whacky, weird and wild things that I created this blog to tell you about em.

Stardust Farm was created to raise Rocky Mountain Horses and that they do, however along the way and over the years (to grandmothers house we go) the Browns have managed to run into a multitude of weird people, a variety of animals and many strange events, some stories have had the names of those involved changed to protect the innocent, (funny farm might be a better name for the place). Stardust is not just another stuffy, straight legged nose in the air goody two shoes horse house, but rather a place everyone can find something of value, sick, lame and lazy, fat, dumb and crazy, come one come all we can all have a ball. If you can't walk don't worry they make horse trailer runs.

The place is occupied by Paul and Julie Brown along with their spaced out critter loven daughter Autumn who likes to run around in the woods at night hanging with skunks, coons and possums. After we get to know each other a little better I might tell you about her favorite creature hangin place but I will save that for another time. Paul & Julie have their heads screwed on just about half way straight but others in the family are real space cowboys ( bet you weren't ready for that to quote the Steve Miller Band).

On another occasion I will tell you more about myself but for now I'm Ziggy and I will be your most humble host on this who-do highway of horse lovers.
